Hi, Gang. Is anyone selling the little brass nut that retains the hour and minute hands on the PAM clock movement? This is the little round nut with serrated outer diameter, Once you've installed the hour and minute hands, you screw this nut on to retain the two clock hands. Thanks for any help on this. Thanks. John

I haven't been able to find any with the correct thread size at our local old-fashioned hardware store. That's why I posted here. John

do you know the size?
One option may be a cheap battery movement from Hobby Lobby or walmart. Buy a cheap movement just to get the nut.

Try McMaster Carr. They carry a wide variety of thumb screws.

Thanks for the attempts to help, Gang. But, you really have to have played with PAM clocks in the past to know what I'm looking for. I'll try to post a picture shortly. This item is a weird little nut that is not hex-shaped, but rather has a round, serrated exterior. And, it's an odd internal thread size. It's certainly not a thumb screw, and I've already checked the hand retaining nuts on some of the little imported clock movements. Wouldn't you know it....those nuts are all metric tread sizes.
Again, I appreciate the info in the posts to date, but I'm still lacking a solution, or the name of a vendor who might have these. Thanks. John

Didn't think about metric. Let me know size, I have a box of old synchron movements and can most likely hook you up. If I have one that will work for you, I'll send it along n/c.

Thank you very much for posting the small round nut for the PAM clock hands, Randy. VERY GOOD of you to take the time. Yes, that's the nut. Again, the exterior is round and has vertical serrations on it, so you can grip it to tighten with your fingers. I think most guys who play with the PAM advertising clocks will know what the nut is like.
And, Morgan, thanks also for your very kind offer. I'll get my thread gauge out, and try to get a thread size. It's a strange one (I think). John

All I need to know is the diameter of the hour hand shaft.

Wow, it's great of those of you who are giving me a hand. I appreciate your time, and your help. "coopwyo", I've actually tried the one on eBay you gave me a heads-up about. The tread pitch and count was wrong. And Morgan, I am working to measure the diameter of the shaft, and also the tread pitch. THANK YOU again. John
