From Carlisle a few weeks ago. A little rough but a hard to find sign and the price was right!

Closeups of two globes - both excellent.

The Route 66 California and New Mexico are new additions.

Just found in the rafters of a closed bulk plant. Nailed face to face together. Denailed for the first time today. Really dusty. These were actually highway billboards. Huge 4x8 self framed tin signs. I didn't try to clean them, just wiped them off somewhat. They also have instructions showing how to set these up. How far apart to set the 4x4's, how deep to put them in the ground, and the paint code for the texaco green to paint the lumber. These date to 1936 as seen in the photo.

Here's a couple of additions from the auction of Bob Shaw's collection at Ohio Gas in Dayton

The diesel PPP is the version with the white and blue border and is dated 1956.

The Valvoline version of this globe is fairly common, but this the first "Ashland" Go-Mix globe
I've seen.

Here's the only thing I bought at Ohio Gas (unless you count one little sight glass for an Erie 70).

The 'book' rates this as a '5' in rarity.

This is only a single lens that needs a little 'restoration' at tht top to make it real nice. I'm gonna see about taking care of that in the near future.

Jodi (The Keeper) also bought a globe - but she never saw it and won't until Michigan gas or Columbus. Once she actually gets the thing - I'll post a picture.

Later . . .

Jim
