Several months ago Al Barrows (Ranchpump) emailed me and asked if I knew of a collector in Guadalupe, California. Guadalupe is a rather small town on the Coast Highway (Highway 1 not 101) south of Pismo Beach and north of me by about 30 miles. I told Al that I had heard that there was a guy that collected out there but I didn't know anything about his collection and didn't know where to find him.

Out of the blue I got a call from him this weekend. He heard that I was collecting and said he might be selling off some pumps. I finally got a chance to pay a visit and see his collection. Not a huge collection but some interesting things to see so I thought you might like to see some too.

First some pumps. The Wayne 70 with the station lighter is in original as found condition right out of the station. Next to that is a rare "Joy" pre-visible, then a Wayne/B-D visible, then I think a little Bowser curb pump. Note the Wayne 70 has Fire Chief Ad glass and a Skychief pump plate, which is how it came out of the station.

Top only of a clockface. Did it come off a showcase???

A Wayne 100-A. Interesting thing about this pump is the "Bell" brand decal and original color scheme.

More to follow...

Now for some signs...

Some interesting western brands that you wont see very often. Would love to see the neon back on this sign.

Hand painted price sign, rare brand.

One of a kind AAA Sign???

Just a few others that were interesting

I spotted a pile of dusty signs under a cabinet and said "What are these?" He said, "Looks like some signs I never go put up, maybe you ought to take those with you". I thought that he was kidding but he wasn't so I added a couple little things to my collection. Free visit and a take home prize.

Curt,
That's a BOYLE DAYTON #51 curb pump, not a BOWSER.
Wounder if he knows what happened to the TOKHEIM 850 that sat next to a visible on the north side of the Union station about 1975-76 ? Everytime I went to the sand dunes, I tried to buy it.
