Anyone with Standard Oil knowledge about this cast plate? The crown looks close but I doubt its for Standard Oil. Thoughts appreciated.

It doesn't look like a Standard (Ind.) crown. The jewels around the bottom are all wrong. Other similarities are striking, however.

After looking at the Nebraska crown, with its differences, anything is possible.

The Nebraska crown has more similar jewels around the bottom (cartouches). However, the whole top is different, and it doesn't have the Maltese crosses.

My answer: probably not, but maybe

I would personally say... early jewelry store or pawn shop type place...
