Globe holding base for STANDARD TORCH FLAME. Was mounted to top of sign to hold flame, rest of torch is in the porcelain on sign. db [This message has been edited by Dick Bennett (edited 05-10-2008).]

That seems pretty reasonable to me. Does a normal size globe fit in there? A glass or plastic one or either? P.S. Joe your wacked! lol

An adapter would have to be made. Been quite a few years since I looked, I think the flame has a 5" base. To mount on shelf, I welded an inverted T to hold it. Hard to tell in photo, but it's 3 pieces [2 sides & top]. db

I have a complete Standard, sign in the yard, which includes the complete torch assembly. The flame is held in place with a modified wedge ring which fits down inside the torch head. Mine was complete when I bought it, however, judging from the people who have asked me about it,I think the porcelain flame holder is a lot harder to find than the flame part if you are wanting to have a complete sign. JT, What is not being mentioned here is that this was on the top of a large sign on top of a tall pole. No globe was used here, just a nice porcelain base for the flame that was above the sign. On or off the sign, this makes a nice display. cmoeon66 describes the sign.
