Was the Bennett 1056 used to pump oil or gas. It looks like a pump that sat on a barrel. if any one can give me any pic,s of one or any information would be great.

The 1056 was a normal service station gas pump.
You state it looks like it sat on a barrel, this is not what I described above, are you reading the Model number correctly? How about a picture?

Sorry about the the post it should be a bennett 1065. I must be getting all timmers Was this a barrel pump for oil

Can't find a picture of your pump, but did find a parts list with a drawing. It was probably introduced around 1961 and is called a "Bennett One Gallon Stroke Kerosene Dispenser." Their was five pumps in this series and they include the 665, 761, 1060, 1065 and the 1205. The One Gallon Stroke meant you got one gallon of kerosene per stroke.

Jim thanks for the information.The pump has a 1/2 gallon and a 1 gallon stroke indacators. I thought the pump was older than that thanks again
