First post here. New to gas pumps, always wanted one but just never came across the right "deal". It is a model 39 Tolkheim "shorty"? Came across it at a farm auction. Pretty solid, I was looking for a little info and found this site. I'll probably have a few questions as I fix it up.

Unless you have an Excellent memory, take LOTS of picture during dis-assembly. Many Tok. 39L's have been done as a 1st project. Use the Search feature, at Top on ALL pages.
Pick a company YOU LIKE, get your Decals/Signs/Globe. Have your paint mixed to match. DON'T FORGET TO TAKE & POST PICTURES. db Beware of the guy in Devils Lake,ND ! LOL

If you needed a pump and called up the nearest service station equipment dealer and ordered a pump, it came in red, regardless of the manufacturer. For a lot of information about gas pumps and this hobby in general, check out my website, over 5000 images. www.petrolianacollectibles.comJack Sim

Welcome aboard. I think the 39's are the best. Maybe I'm partial to them because I've got one sitting in front of my shop. Mike

Welcome to oldgas. When you get a chance, post some pictures of your vintage snowmobiles in the Non-petro Discussion and Showcase section. I rode sleds for many years when I lived in northern Wisconsin. Some days it was the ONLY way you could get around !

Welcome to Oldgas. Looking at the holes fromthe pump plate it could have been a Mobil. Also, there is orange paint under there...possible Phillips 66. Make it what you like. But, Texaco is the best...Ok,I am biased.

Welcome. like everybody has said we like pictures and restore the pump the way you want. The 39 is a good easy pump to start out with. It comes a part easy and go's back together easy. But like DB said take a lot of pictures it will pay off later.
Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes. Shawn Morris

You'll get the right information on this web site. Theres a wealth of knowledge available here! Theres a book for sale at the beginning of the web site called PCM'S Guide to Gas Pump Restoration! I recommend you get a copy--saves on lots of mistakes! Also, if you get in a bind, I'm in Devils Lake and have restored several pumps! I have many pumps on hand and lots of parts! I also know a lot of people in the state that can help you out! Glad to have you aboard, we have to watch out for North Dakota or else those California guys might take over the world! All kidding aside, everyone on here will help you out--just ask!---KEVIN
