Anyone know anything about a porcelain "Rock Island Gasoline" sign? 23" diameter with a picture of an island in the center. Rock Island on top of the sign, gasoline on the bottom in bold white lettering; border is blue around the letters. pdxgasman

Used to be a Rock Island refinery in Indianapolis. I think Marathon bought them. I've got a globe from them I'd trade for the sign if it was decent shape.

Rock Island started out in Oklahoma. I might be interested also in the sign if it comes up for sale. I have some of the early Oklahoma Rock Island globes.

Welcome, PDX,
Could you post a picture of the sign? I'm sure several of us would be interested in seeing what it looks like. I'm assuming it's the same images as some of their globes.

Welcome aboard fellow Oregonian. Good looking sign. For some reason the picture of the rock looks familiar to me. Mike
