Luckily it can be turned back to normal easily. The sign only has one small chip a bit smaller than the size of a quarter. The base is the marked original and still has the bracket to mount. I plan on repainting the frame and base what color would be correct...black????

I'm pretty sure black would be correct.

I remember at a show about 10 years ago someone made a table out of a large HC Sinclair sign, the round one with the green and white lines design

Oslosteve hit the nail on the head. They were originally Texaco green.

Finally got the brace off the frame and from the base. This is the worst side of the sign. I still need to remove the screws that hold the sign in the frame so that I can mount it back on the base.
