Last week someone on the board was asking about how well the repo script tops fit, and how they looked on the pump.

I found this pic at gasalley.com - and was supprised to see the fitting on this. Is this very common "words being blocked"?

Also - the guy that posted saying you have to really lay on the primer was very CORRECT - as even in this photo you can see the fibers from the fiberglass peeking threw the paint.

Also - this pump never had a globe did it?

I was thinking about buying the fiberglass top like this - but if it is going to fit like this how can you fix it?

Wow... that's just... awful.

Sign me up for metal...

Surely all of the fiberglass ones don't fit that badly?

And no, there should not be a globe on that pump.

yea, that was my thought when I saw this. None of my books showed a globe on it but you never know. I am hoping to hear from Seth on this one, and see what he says about fits like this.

I may be wrong, but I believe part of the problem is the door rubber. I don't think the MS 80 has any like that.

I have never used one but know some that have I havent heard anything good. One guy had to cut all the leters apart seperatly to get them to fit. I was told the first ones were worse dont know if this is true. The three I have seen in person dont fit well. If time is not a factor you can fix anything.

Thats the correct door rubber,as much as I can tell but the letters should sit higher above the door as to clearly read the adv. Anything fiberglass I usually lay a very very thin coat of filler mixed with fiberglass resin and block out and prime deep and block again.I do this on all the corvettes I have done and works very good.SSlick68
