I have an old kerosene light. It is black, has a clear lens and a red lens on one side and it is stamped in several places "FORD BROWN O". Does anyone know what vehicle this came off of and is it a sister company to Ford. The "FORD" is stamped in the Ford logo. THANKS. Leroy.

Sounds like a T era Tail light.
Probably round steel 1915 era and up.
Brown Co made the lights for Ford.

If you really want to know for sure go to www.modelt.org
or
www.mtfca.com

both are good sites for the model t

Leroy-
The Ford-O taillamp made by Brown was used from mid 1923 -1926. The small red lens faced the back and the large clear lens illuminated the license plate. Here is a picture of one. http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/TL11.htm

The Ford-O taillamp made by Brown was used from mid 1923 -1926 on the cars that were not equipped with starter motors and generators. The small red lens faced the back and the large clear lens illuminated the license plate. Here is a picture of one. http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/TL11.htm
Cars of that era that had starter motors and generatos used an electric taillight.
