There is a round, plastic Mobil Pegasus sign on ebay, item 300493158176. I know that plastic signs don't have high values, so the $400 buy it now seems quite a bit out of line. It looks like it is at an antique store, so what would be a reasonable offer?

$200. is "reasonable" BUT you can and will find one cheaper and closer to home. I love your screen name

A few years ago when we were removing the round ones from all the stations we were closing for Exxon we found that they made great sleds in the snow once the ice formed on top.lol Bill

Seems About $150 too much for a recent large plastic light-up sign.A few years ago when we were removing the round ones from all the stations we were closing for Exxon we found that they made great sleds in the snow once the ice formed on top.lol Bill Bill, They used to do the same thing in the snow with Coca-Cola Button signs before they became collectible of course.

Doc, I dont see the plastic, FLAT faced, round lightup newer Pegasus sign generating quite the nostalgia of a 50's metal Coke sign.
Is this one going to generate memories of going to to buy overpriced groceries at the self serve Mobil station?
Not sure what this current generation will wax nostalgia for: 1st generation Ipods? Windows 97?
Now did each sign serve the same purpose in their decade? yes just signs advertising a product

No, it is not the plastic, flat round sign that generates the nostalgia, but having a Pegasus lit up in my garage would generate the memories of Mobil stations of years past. Not everyone can afford an original, neon, porcelain Pegasus sign.

I understand. But at 400 I think you are better off buying a soso shape OLD metal Mobil sign.
