Does anybody know anything about the Deyo Oil Company using the Galtex brand?? I've had this 42" Galtex sign for over a year but can't find any good info on the company. A reference in the Oil Company Signs book says the company was from Galveston, Texas. But one collector thought the company originated in New York state. I'm fairly sure the sign dates to at least the 1930's. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Doc, Thanks for responding. Galveston would be the obvious assumption for the name. However, this brand isn't really known by Texas collectors I've spoken to. In addition, a New York collector says the company started in New York in the early 1900's. A few of these signs have popped up over the years, most in New York. It may very well be they had production and refineries in Texas. By the way, the sign was manufactuered in New Orleans. Paul

Thanks, Dick. However, I've already talked to Howard about this sign. Several collectors have either seen or owned one of these Galtex signs over the years. But nobody seems to know any company history. Paul
