Some of these signs are like old rusted cars that need to be sent to the crusher, get them out of circulation.

Wow...that's harsh..lol

For me, I like signs like this. I have a few that are in similar condition to this one. I know they'll never be worth a fortune (in fact, I might have more in them than what they're worth), but I guarantee you won't find another one like them..lol

signs like this are nice. There is also little doubt as to weather it is real or repro.

I like rusty beat up signs they are all I can afford...

How could a collector say that? Its not a super common sign. People like you that say scrap is what is going to kill this hobby.

I can always find a slot for a "Barn Hanger" like this one.It would look cool in just the right spot.

Most "Collectors" would not waste their time on something in this condition, A sign like this one does absolutley nothing for the hobby, it only excites a newcomer who thinks they have all the answers and can call this a "collectible grade" sign. I say trash it before we lose a collector to hepatitis from getting cut with the thing

Some people can only afford certain signs. This one while very rough is still a "piece" of Texaco Advertising history. We as collectors should preserve gas station history. I would hate to scrap any old gas sign no matter the condition. If you do not enjoy it, other people out there might.
