Hello, My Tokheim 39 is now going back together, and I hit a few problems. My doors aren't square, and do not line up with the top, one side is lower than the other, and the top of the door dosen't close all the way. Is this a problem with the Frame? My Glass dosen't fit in the doors also. I got new glass ruber from Memories restored, and it seems thicker than the original. Sould I get the window cut down to fit in the rubber?

You might make sure your top is on correctly and bolted all the way down. Also did you sandblast your doors. If so they may be warped.

Mike, with the new window kit..the glass fits on the inside of the door..the small side of the rubber to the outside of the door and the large part of the rubber to the inside and the glass goes on the large part of the rubber in side the door...as for your doors not square it prob is your door adjustment..loosen the 1/4" door bolts and carefully close the door and hold it in and line it up while someone tightens from the other side..if it hits the SS trim when it is unlocked but closed, you might need to raise the trim to fit...hope this helps

Mike I had the same problem , stand back and think, mine were off 1/2" so i just undid the bolts an on the door side and moved the door up or down theres also an ajustment on the inside unsing a bolt that goes into the tube that holds the door in place, then when you close the door and on the inside locking handle watch it so you put the top of the door under the top lip, and push down the top of the door goes up under the top lip. hope this helps. scratch your haed a couple times. it works for me.

Mike, keep in mind that some T-39's also have adjustment where the hinge bolts to the door. This might help straighten the door. Sometimes bent hinges are the culprit. I find cussing like a sailor helps me get 'em togather.

Cursing works - but only if you squint and stick your tongue out while you're doing it.

It also keeps the wife out of the shop when you're having a bad day.

Later . . .

I did sandblast the doors, so that could have done it. I don't have the top bolted down, so that might contribute. As for the glass, I had the glass on the inside, and it hit my site glass. I put a thick wire on the left top and a turn buckel on the lower right and pulled the frame, and this evened out the door, but even after I tightened the frame bolts, it went right back to the original shape.

It's always a good idea to test fit as you go along. Also the repro rubber isn't exactly like the original and, as in my case, original glass may have to be trimmed.
I'm new here and I'm sure I can get a few of my own questions answered, like why do I keep doing this?

Ok, I cussed at the thing, alot, and threw a few wrenches accross the shop . I got the door to hook under the trim, and it looks good. Now I am worried about the other side. the door is about 1/2" too far left. can this be adjusted? I think I will have to trim the glass to fit on the outside of the door.
