Scott, Can you tell what the globe is in the picture? Is it Bearcat? Very cool, anxious to see your April post on this Company. Larry

The globe on the side of the building looks like a sinclair with the airplane but I do not know what the one of the pump is. These original photos were 2x3 so its hard to blow them up...

The one on the right looks like it might be an Ethyl logo with text around it.

I still need more photos and any tidbits of history you have on this company. I found a better picture of the mystery globe. I have never heard of it...

PARCO (Producers and Refiners Oil Company) from Independence, Kansas became an affiliate of Sinclair in the 1930s and was totally purchase by Sinclair in 1934. The PARCO Ethyl globe was used from 1929 - 1934. This info is in Vol 2 of the Globe Book.

Good Info! Thanks and that does make sense as you can see in one of the pictures is a sinclair aviation globe as well.

Parco for sure.
More interesting info. The Parco (now Sinclair, WY) refinery and the Frontier Refinery in Cheyenne, WY were government built and funded refineries. Their purpose was to be an inland supplier of aviation gas for the allied forces during WWII. The sites were chosen because they were close to oil fields and not very susceptible to an enemy attack. There were refineries at both locations previous to the war but they did not have the capacity or capabilities required by the government so new refineries were built at these locations. After the war Parco (already Sinclair) and Frontier (who had been operating the refineries for the government) were sold to their operators after the war.
More on the story of Frontier in the future.
Guess that was a little tease of my own!
