I took a chance over the weekend and bought this "globe." It is 12.5 inches wide by 14.5 inches tall. The lettering was done on the inside and the item was also painted white on the inside. As you can see, the white is practically gone. There's a factory made round hole in the top where somebody placed a marble. The bottom is 6 inches. Anybody know what it is? What would be the value? Seems to be small for a gas pump globe. Air meter globe?

I have seen them on ebay--fantasy item in my opinion.

I don't even think it was meant to be a gas pump globe. Appears to be something that has been repurposed as a globe.
