If there are any members that are affected by the fires and mandatory evacuations that are going on and need help with pets or housing, let me know. Karen and I will do whatever we are able to do. Dave

Dave,
Thanks for the heads up. I will pass it on.
We live in Mountain Shadows near the Garden of the Gods and are part of the evacuation area. What a wild last couple of days. Main thing is no one has been injured and no loss of homes at this time. Kudos to the all of the individuals fighting this...what an unbelievably tough job. Hope everyone on OldGas keeps them in their prayers.
Thanks again Dave.
Mike

Hopefully today the winds will keep the fires away from people and the firefighters can start to get a handle on it. Just PM me if there is anything we can do. We live out East in the Falcon area. Dave

This is the view from my house today. That's not a thunderstorm, we surely wish it was!

With the way that cloud looks, the wind is blowing across the fire zone toward you. Yikes!
Breaks my heart to see the destruction.

In the forground you see the Air Force Academy stadium

This picture is from my house almost 50 miles away, the small mountain in the background...pikes peak.

50mph winds, zero humidity and record 101 degree heat. Just devastating to all who are in the path. I feel for all the victims as its moved from forest to house to house firefighting. So sad.

Hope, Mike and his family are OK? The fire blew up right through his area, Mountian Shadows. Most of it burned.

I haven't heard from Mike since his first post. Don't know if he was in the first, more leisurely, evacuation or the chaotic one last night.

Mike is OK but his house is right where all the houses were lost. He does not know if his place is standing or not. It all can be replaced but one thing is sure, this is a destructive beast.

My dad called me this morning and said that my Aunt Mary was told to leave her house yesterday as the fire was 1.5 miles away from here house. It does not sound good over there at all.
