I am trying to determine if a Flying A Gasoline porcelain sign is real or a repo. Its diameter is 11 3/4". It is red with a black band around the edge and has the wing logo in the center. All the lettering is white. It is missing all four grommets. The front shows what appears to be ware but the back is really clean. I do not have a web page to post a picture from. I know there are a lot of reproductions of this sign.

Welcome to Old Gas. Almost ALL 11 3/4 or 12" porcelain signs are repo.
I'd avoid it.

IF it's an ebay item, copy the http address or auction # & paste in message.

Read the sticky at top of General Forum for Picture Posting Help.

Personally, I am not familiar with Tide Water-Associated using a pump plate in this size...

But, I've learned to "never say never"....

Thanks for the info. I bought it with the option to return it. I can not find this sign in any of the reference books I have, that is one reason I question its authenticity.

If you paid more than $20 + Postage, I'd return for a Refund.
@ approx. $20 it's good for an outside pump where a real sign might get stolen or shot at w/ BB Guns.

Agree with you Bob, never say never, or in this case never say always. Without an almost in front of it - lol. I don't know flying a pump or lube plates that well but know of several repos that fit his description so I would stay clear..... Thanks

IF I SOLD my Twin Towers, there would be even fewer that would be PEED OFF at me!

Hell, I catch a lot of Flack for making Twin pumps out of Pump Parts & give a lot of Flack to most that Dummy in Clock Kits!
I use Very VERY Few Repop parts in my creations.
