YES! I have satellite service... Its time for a new TV though. As for the antennas, Its a bit difficult but if you drive just right, you dont pull the cord off the antenna...

Hey Thunder, I do a bit of home media and network consulting as a small business.

I personally have a Samsung and will always recommend one.

Any LCD Samsung is good for your average viewing.

Plasmas have far too high of a burn in rate, especially if you have young children who like to pause things on the television, or if you play video games.

LEDs are still pretty expensive, and if something does break they are pretty costly to repair.

Also, keep in mind that 95% of your flat screens have VERY poor speakers in them. At your average volume you are fine, but if you listen to movies or music on your television, it will crackle and pop. This is just due to the size restraint issues in the actual body of the television. So, if you don't already have a surround sound system, I'd recommend getting one, or at least a sound bar.

Please feel FREE to text me (I work most of the day Supervising a Call Center), or send me a PM or e-mail and I'll break down anything you'd like. I can break down the 720/1080p aspects or review any specific model of TV you are interested in, depending on how much you need or want to know.

I'd be happy to help!

I say it's a business, but it's more like a hobby lol.

Also, just an FYI, I have a 52 in. Samsung LCD in my living room. Have had it for four years. It is on about 18-20 hours a day, with 4 or so of those being video games (the most trying thing for your T.V.). I also have a 32 in. Samsung LCD in my bedroom that is 3 years old and used 6 hours a day on average. Both have worked well, thank God.

Thanks,
Ed

Last TV I bought was to upgrade the Motorhome to digital. Went to Best Buy then Walmart comparing. As you'd expect, bought it at the later. Wasn't the highest dollar but picture was great. Figured, why spend loads on the very best when they seem to be out of date within a year or two? Paul www.severngaspumps.com

I have an older JVC tv in my living room that has not been turned on for months. I pick up two stations that go in and out so they are not worth watching. Up stairs I have about a twenty year old tv that I watch DVD's on of old tv shows. {All in the Family},lately. No wasted time on commercialism.
I cut the cable tv off several years ago and glad I did. I have more time and money to spend on the things I enjoy. I spend more time visiting with friends, I don't rush home because American Idol is on at 8 o'clock. My two cents, go for six months without tv and you will find you won't miss it. Live life, not as a potato.

Vizio from Sam's, 1080p with 120 mhz refresh rate or higher. As mentioned, the sound bar comes with a subwoofere and puts out incredible sound. Good luck.

Thanks, Phil

I too have a Vizio (42") from Walmart.

I don't have surround. But my living room is small enough that I get great (IMO) sound from the Vizio...

I've now had it for almost 18 months and I am very happy with it...

I have a Sony Bravia which is a great TV, but we also have 3 Vizios and for the money I would buy the Vizios again. We bought the Sony when the LCD tvs were the new big thing and paid a small fortune for it. Then only 6 months later I could have bought 3 of them for what I paid for it. That's when I learned not to buy the newest technology and to wait 6 months to a year to buy it and save a lot of money.

We bought all our Vizios at Sams Club which I would guess the Walmart Vizios are the same and they are great TVs and I think the sound is even great on them.

I highly recommend any flat screen w/LED & LCD.
Whatever you buy,buy it AFTER the Superbowl is played.
That's when most are priced at their lowest.

I like my 55" Vizio, LED, 240 mhz, apps, etc.
But whatever you buy, through my shopping I found Sams Club to have by far the best prices.

Jeff,
I recommend Sony or its sister company Visio. Walmart sells Visio and IMO can't go wrong and priced right. Bought a Samsung it lasted us a year and 8 months,,,,never again

Larry

P.S. We have LCD and go for 1080 whatever all that ***** is lol
