Just received both books today. Great job Jack.
I'm not into Air Meters like I am in pumps, but this book is a GOT TO HAVE, just for the pictures.

I am the only one selling the Air Meter book, when you purchase both from me you will get autographed copies and also a copy of a 1952 movie made by Bennett showing their pumps and Islanders. For more information see my website: www.petrolianacollectibles.com

New Gas Pump Book... purchase alternative!

If one considered purchasing this same publication [Jacks new gas pump id book] via our most valued hosts website book store listed at the top of this page, it not only helps Jack Sim but also Jim Potts too. Plus you save nearly 50%! That considerable of savings actually relates to, you can also purchase the air meter book from jack for only... $22.84 delivered or simply save yourself $13.15 on the gas pump book by itself.

just being frugal and dont require any signatures or mostly duplicate info, in a 55+ yr old copied movie from Bennetts

Ynot,

Yea, don't buy the book from Jack Sim, buy it from ? and you'll save the price of a bottle of water.

We spend 100s of dollars on gas pumps.
When someone on this site says he has found something new we all jump in and say let me know about it, I give you....
We spend $60,000 dollars on one sign.

Then you go and put something like the above post on telling everyone you can save $10.00 on my book and you call this a considerable savings.

This is probably the most used book in this hobby. I spent 1000s of dollars buying the literature that it took to write this book and I spent over 9 months of my life to write the first book, then 6 months of my life to write the second book, plus another five months to write the Air book, and you are telling everyone they can save money by buying it from someone else besides me. What a way to thank the author.

My contract with the publishing company states that I will make approx. $2.00 per book that they sell, this is called a royality. They did not pay me one cent to write the book.

The first book sold almost 10,000 copies, so I made $20,000, but spread this over 6 years and I made a little over $3000 per year, not subtracting the money I spent to write the book. I could have made more money being a greeter at Wall Marts.

The only way an author of a hobby book make any money is to sell the book. He hopes that all the people who appreciate what he has done will reciprite and buy the book from him.

If saving one or two dollars really means something to you, email me and I will tell you where to buy the book for even less than you posted.

Anybody who wants to purchase enough books can sell them for as little as he wants, he can even sell them for less than he paid for them if he wants.

I really don't understand why you want to slam the author of a book. I have almost 2000 posts on this site, very few of them are blog. I answer questions. Show me a globe person who answers, show me (besides Dick Bennett) who answers any gas pump questions.

By the way, you can not purchase a Air Meter book from me for $22.84 delivered, check out my website. At the present time I am really questioning why I bothered to write the Air book since I have sold less than 100 of them. I self published them at a cost of over $10,000, and most of them will be tosed in the hole with me when I die, maybe I can sell them where I am going since I can't sell them here.

One more thing, don't bring the Gas Pump book that you purchased from someone else up to me and ask me to authograph it. Ask the person you purchased it from to authograph it for you.

Jack,
Both books rock, you are a star! I had a chance to pick up the Air Meter book and talk to Cindy in Columbus and received the pump book a week later in the mail. Your new books promote the hobby, establish current values, provide priceless information and help stable an unsteady marketplace. In my world, my friend, you are the Best! Thank you!
