Hello fellow gassers, I met a gentleman who owns this globe. It's not for sale at the moment, but I have convinced him to remove it from the weather. I have pcm's guide to globe values and it has the first lens at $1500-1800 and the 2nd lens at $500-850 would you say this is an accurate value in today's market? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Plus I just wanted to post a picture of this gem in the RUFF! (The second Lens is cracked).

Wanted anything Flying A Gas, Signal Gas, Hancock oil co, and Sunland.

Thanks Anthony

Anthony--Good job in getting him to preserve that beauty! I have no idea on value but really like that first lens! Can't be many of those around!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, and to still be out side!! My first question to him was would he be interested in taking it down and replacing it with a repro globe. After a few minutes of telling him once they're gone they're gone for ever. That's when he finally came around, and agreed to take it down (I will be helping him with that).

Randy both of them are pictured together on page 93 in the pcm book, but I not sure either. I'm hoping a polly guy will chime in as well. It's funny I almost sent you a photo on your phone while I was standing there. lol

Cool globe! I once tried to buy a globe off of a G & B visible and was refused, a year later a tornado destroyed it. On a different occasion a football destroyed a wide body Gulf. Good to get it it inside!

The Economy Gas is Wilshire for sure. They are scarce but not worth much and I'll stick with the price we gave it. The other insert is extremely rare and only a few known. One complete, certainly in the mid to upper 3K range or more. Excellent in getting him to bring it inside. Scott B.

Update. Well it's been just over three years since I posted this thread, and I've been persuing this globe ever since. I'm very happy to say that tonight it now will have a permenit home in doors. I was able to strike a deal with him, and it came home with me. I was so excited that I wanted to share it..Thanks
