Finishing up my Gilbarco 996 pump resto and trying to get the new glass into the doors. Whats the trick? Do you put the rubber into the door and the fit the glass in or put the rubber around the glass and try to pull the rubber in and around the edges?

Looking for phillips 66 stuff.

Get a length of decent size twine or cord and lay a bead of it in the channel around the rubber..fit the glass into the opening from the back and once it is more or less set, pull the end of the cord all the way around the circumference, As the cord is pulled it will flip the front edge of the gasket over the lip of the opening.
