Are you guys talking about registrations for being a vendor at the show or does this have anything to do with just getting a room to attend the show?

Rooms for the show. It seems this is the only way to know if you are set for the show.

I sent in the registration for the show and asked for a room for the 19,20,21. The promoter then reserves the room and show spaces. Well I finely received a confirmation e-mail from the hotel having me for the 20th and 21. I called the hotel and luckily the issue has been straightened out. I have heard that this has been a problem for a few people, so check and make sure your set.

You can either get an outside space as a vendor or sell out of your room, or both. This hotel provides a great venue for the show.

I'm only coming to buy/look. So I'll have to go room to room in order to see some of the items? Just never even thought of that.

Thanks guys.

Heading out from Massachusetts and looking forward to seeing everyone again. I'll be set up in my room and out in the parking lot. I've enlcosed a picture of just a very small amount of the signs, posters and displays I'll be bringing. I've got a bunch of clean stuff and its all looking for a new home...Should be pulling in around 2pm on the 20th. Feel free to email me at shaunhiggins@comcast.net with any questions. Thanks!

OK this is unfair, posting pictures of what I'll be missing is cruel. At least if it is out of sight, it is out of mind.
Steve I agree going room to room sounds different. Bringing a big buddy with you?

...OT - but aren't there any Canadian swap meets? seems like an awful lot of Canadian collectors - but I've yet to hear of a Canadian gas show...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

In my neck of the woods there are a few per year but they mainly have car parts. Not much in the way of advertising. Part of it is volume from a lower population when this stuff was used, part is that there maybe a larger collector crew here as a percentage of the population. I have a few acquaintances that routinely go to the US to find treasures. I imagine Ontario which has a long history of petroleum exploration refining and sales would have a more exuberant swap meet scene. But you would need to get comments from gassers in Ontario to get information. Maybe TC could weigh in or Dave can speak to the BC scene.

Mark, no we don't have any big shows with the quality and quantity that you gentleman are use to...we are seriously deprived.

Canada has always had 10% the population of the USA, so right away we have 90% less of this stuff to go around. To a great extent people around here throw out things as soon as they are no longer needed. This is further compounded by the fact that most of our population is concentrated in large urban cities. Real estate has always been expensive so even in small towns buildings get sold rather then locked up for 40+ years intact and full of inventory. Vacant buildings get torn down and rebuilt. Property taxes are to high to have buildings sitting vacant as well as every jurisdiction has bylaws prohibiting vacant buildings.

The largest swap meet around here is Portland, Oregon and that doesn't even come close to competing with the pictures that I see posted here from the other USA shows.

You guys have no idea; how lucky you are or how good you have it being close to those big shows!

The reason there isn't much gas stuff in Canada is that Kim (minuteman) bought most of it..LOL
