Pretty neat! If you post on this thread, you're a VETERAN MEMBER!

Oh well, still a Petro Enthusiast.
Finding the goods is more important to me then having the title anyway.

No, the title has no effect on the pension you receive from this site. Everything was invested in Enron. All we have left is a death benefit. If a "Veteran" member dies, we'll come out and pour a quart of oil on your tombstone that we have left from draining collectible motor oil cans.

Jim, the NSA is watching and will pass this message along to the EPA. Expect a visit from them shortly shocked

In other news.....Jack says he's been here since 2000ish and he's #57. I think I've been here longer, yet I'm 1041. Not that it matters....just a curious observation wink

I first posted in Mar 1999. Sometime in the early 2000s the original sign on dates were lost. I now show membership in 2004 with membership # 1718. ???

JP started this site in 1996, BUT didn't Registered: 07-25-2000 So his membership is #2031 !
Some members that joined after 2003 have a lower membership #!
With the several upgrades to oldgas some info was juggled/lost.

This site was started in January 1996. In 1997, when the first version of the Shop Talk forum was set up, there was no registration. Everyone was on their honor to use their own identity and treat each other decently. We had hardly any behavior and spammer issues at that time. When Shop Talk 2.0 was started in 2000, registration was optional, but by the start of 2001, we found that authentication was needed to curb spam and scam. So all users had to then be registered to post messages.

Early on there was a server crash. The software then couldn't tolerate users who would post multiple times before the processing was completed. Those who were active online at that time, saw some data screwed up, including membership number and number of posts. I worked hard to restore everything as best I could, but I didn't consider that some would later put such importance on their membership number or number of posts.
