My pump (Bennett 966) is all painted and I'm going to start assembly today. I have one problem, the holes for the porcelen leaded gas plates got filled and I need some measurements as to the location of these plates. Thanks, I'll post some pictures of my pump when it's assembles.

If the holes were filled you should be able to turn them around and find the filled hole from the back and just drill them back out, Mike

use mouting tape to put them on instead. I have done this before. If you dont want to ...hold up the sign to the pump and mark your holes then drill.

do you mean the contains lead signs?
man i think these were owner installed cause ive had some that were in the weirdist spots & soooooooo crooked i couldnt believe it.
maybe on 966s they came as standard equipment?
but on earlier made 1920s-30s pumps ive had them up high on the door, down low on the side, everywhere & anywhere they could put them!!! crooked & i mean terrible!

""Jacks book shows the sign on a 966 even with the very bottom of the bars on the nozzle side."" (top of sign even with bottom of bars)

if your going to break (drill) into that new paint you should dab a little silicone on the holes you drilled. i use bolts inside & put polished brass or stainless "acorn" nuts exposed on the outside on every sign i put on a pump, even the ID.tag i use itsy-bitsy bolts & tiny little polished acorn nuts outside!

Hubbas idea is good to! sometimes a little leary to drill into nice bodywork!

You could possibly use a small magnet to find where the holes were at.

Last 2 pumps I did I bought magnetic sign material like you use on the truck sign and glued decals to it, then cut the decals out very carefully and let them stick on the pump. No holes and I can easily change brands that use the same color. The material is rather thick and it looks like metal after its applied.
