Anybody have any good methods for removing unwanted paint from an enamel painted metal sign (not porcelain)?? I'm referring to drips and edge brushings sloppily applied (most likely wall paint). Obviously, strong or abrasive cleaning materials could damage the original sign finish.

Thanks in advance for any useful tips.

Paul

I've heard that lacquer thinner has been effective at removing spray paint from a painted sign. I can see it destroying the sign pretty easily, too, though.

The wall paint might be too thick for that. I wonder what wouldhappen if you picked at it with a razor blade?

its all according to the "tooth" of the paint.... if its weathered... leave it alone... believe me... i wrecked a few... comes down to ... if you can't live with it the way it is... DON'T BUY IT...

Try warming with a Hair Dryer to soften the top layer.
