Here in the upper Midwest this winter has been very cold and there has been a shortage of LP gas for home heating. Prices on this stuff is per gallon and the low was around $1.39 and has hit now up around $7. Just wondering how you guys in other areas are doing with prices of LP gas. There has been some political assistance but don't know to what extent it's helped. People are borrowing money, mortgaging their homes etc to buy this all the sudden over priced product. What's the price where you live?

Terry around here it went up to over $5 a gallon almost $6 from around $2 a gallon. I think it is them taking advantage of everyone needing it this time of year. Plus with the cold temps like they are this winter they know everyone needs it. Still ticks you off though!! Since then it has went back down to between $3 & $4.

we got 200 gallons in the beginning of January... it was $2.02 per gallon (normal), 2 days later a neighbor got it and was mad at $3 a gallon... a few days later, a friend was stuck with it at $5 a gallon.
its a serious burden for a lot of families and businesses. i hope for everyone's sake the shortage (or price gouging) is resolved soon!
we are trying to conserve by keeping the house at 62 degrees and using infrared heaters in the rooms we want to. but that still doesn't help the oven & water heater.

I agree with the gouging. Bad thing is, now that they have seen that we will pay it, just like gas and oil, it will never go back like it was a couple years ago. At lest I fear this.

Now ya know how the West Coast feels about higher gasoline prices! West coast & Illinois. For some reason our state likes to stay up there with Cali on gas prices.

You guys in CA better sell while you can and get out. All your property is going to take on a desert like appearance. I know the weather there is nice year around but the pic's on nightly news of those empty reservoirs ain't nice.

Every time we have sever drought they talk of building Desalination Plants. By the time they could/do build, it rains & plants are sold for Scrap.

Price on LP here went up to $ 4.25. Diesel prices are out of control $4.49 and up. Its nice that no one will step up to control this the government is getting their fair share so they don't care. The diesel prices are up in the winter because if it was cheap people would use it for home heating. If that's not controlling the people I don't know what is.

Ex-Wifey kept the big house with the high ceilings heated entirely with propane..Ha Ha..The cost to have the 1000 gallon tank filled and refilled to heat the house is about 3 extra mortgage payments a year!

Talked to an employee from the company I retired from & they limiting deliveries to 150 gallons to a customer because they have been placed on allocation. My neighbor was just delivered by another company but only 150 gallons in a 500 gallon tank. Prices are at $4.00 to 4.50 a gallon. Most LP tanks are company owned & they will only set the size they feel the customer needs. You have use X number fills or gallons per year or pay a rental fee. Usually a 500 gallon tank for a residential customer. With an 85% of capacity equals 425.
