I found a globe today that is going to be sold. It is a Fleet Wing. The globe itself is heavy plastic and the lense's are glass. I know the globe is NOT a repro because I know the owner had a Fleet-Wing station. When did they make these 3 piece globes? When did they make solid globes? Thanks, TerryL

Terry, It's not a 3pc. globe if it has a plastic (Capco) body. Fleet-Wing used capco body globes from '55-'70.
By solid, do you mean one piece? As far as I know Fleet-Wing never used one piece globes. They used several different 3pc glass globes starting in the 30's all the way up to 1970.
The capco versions are fairly common. Hope this helps. Bob

Thanks Bob, I am not up on globes. You seem to know exactly what I was trying to describe. This has a "Capco" body alright and the glass len's. The fifties was when this fellow would of had the station. I think I know a guy who will most likely buy it. {wink}
