Hello,
After eating dinner yesterday we sat down to relax smile
Roberta pulled up the few internet auctions that chose to run on Thanksgiving??? Anyhow this sign popped up for auction that started in an hour BUT was 3 hours away. LOL
No live bidding, no answer on phone, no other numbers, no nothing...So I emailed the auctioneer and he called right away! LOL His email is hooked up to his cell phone But they werent in the office so I guess my persistance paid off. He held the sign to the very end and then his wife called and I won the sign.
The sign is 6 foot diameter. 2 piece single sided...
It was obviously mounted for some time. Came from a barn in Adrian Michigan. Any info on this company would be great!

it is i have the mate to that sign the story i have is that paul lechner out of monroe michigan also has a place in sedona az. years ago he stumbled upon 2 of these signs that were in a metal ring at a antique store there he said he was told they were from a small independent gas dealer in az. back in the 50s he brought them back to michigan, he knew i collected gas stuff and offered me one he kept one and sold the other 2 at auction years ago now you have uncovered one of them and there is still one somewhere out there and now you have all figuried how our screen name came about Warriorgas thanks for the long story dave

Now thats a shame they made it out of AZ. Think I need to do a little research. Still it is a nice sign.

Me like'em! Searched a few newspaper sites and only came up with a WARRIOR PETROLEUM out of Philly, PA, with article hits in the teens to '30s. There were quite a few WARRIOR OIL companies.

Nothing came up in Arizona though, in the available newspapers.

Great sign!

Thanks for taking time to help research it Gilmore!
Thanks to WarriorGas also for his help!!!
The sign is NOT hand painted BUT is professionally done, like by a sign company. Both halves have a #7 on back put there by the maker...
I found a warrior globe Dan sold in 2008 at peotone auction BUT unsure if its the same company because the indians are different...
I also found a huge tanker with a warrior pictured But indian looks different there too...
Please send smoke signals if you have any info...LOL
