I have this conoco pump sign and I saw one exactly like it on ebay that sold for $700.00. Can't find a repo like it, and he sounds like he knows what he's talking about, so I wanted to get some opinions on it.

#131345834151 Here is the description the seller used on the plate.

"Here is s Conoco Minute Man Porcelain Pump sign measuring approximately 12 inches in diameter. This sign was used from 1918 through 1926 only on visible gas pumps/Conoco and affiliates. The grommets on the sign are steel I believe and not brass. This is a very early sign and the earliest sign that Conoco used. By 1929 the sign was history. This sign was used only on Visible/Gravity Flow Pumps like Fry, Tokheim, Erie, Hayes, Correct Measure, Rush. This sign as
well as others I have listed is from the lifetime collection of a very experienced sign collector. Very beautiful orange and blue colors with the minute man outlined in white. Very minor edge chipping at the 4 o clock position and discoloration around the rivets as shown. Reverse is gray porcelain (what looks like scratches on the back were made on production). If you are looking at this sign you know what it is. Don't miss it. High bidder to pay $15 for insured shipping anywhere within the continental United States."

Total fantasy fake Conoco sign. They never made a pump plate like that. Some one got taken to the cleaners on that one . You buy one from Vic's 66 .com for $22.00 + Shipping

Thanks guys! I feel bad for the person who paid so much for that sign. Expensive lesson!

I'm not the brightest light bulb in the shop! I paid $50.00 dollars for the one I have. More than twice what its worth!
