Hey Guys (and Gals),
New to the vintage gas station collector hobby but I think I may be off to a great start. At a yard sale over the weekend I found a restored original gas pump. Here is what it is;
Gilebert & Barker
Truemeter (looks like a watch face)
With the globe light its at least 7 feet tall.
Its red and green.
Has what I can only describe as 2 tiers...the shape is like two rectangles stacked in each other with the top one being smaller.
Its original for sure...and has been restored. What is this thing worth? I paid $550.
Any help would help so I can prove to my wife that I am not a fool!
TC

Hi TC,
Sounds like a G&B model TM on page 181 of "An Illustrated Guide to Gas Pumps" by Jack Sim. If that is true, you paid less than half the book value for a complete unrestored pump. Nice looking pump. Get the book.
We can't help you with the wife thinking you are crazy. Some of the rest of us are working though that one too. Some wives just don't see the beauty in this stuff. Some wives do, and they are married to very lucky husbands.
Send Hubba or me a picture and we will post it for you.
