The Pecan Shop looks like a old STUCKY'S RESTAURANT that has been re-roofed. In the '60's on old 66, STUCKY'S were always next to a TEXACO station. Must have been some kind of marriage.

Yep Stucky's were Texaco stations all in one. Only on hi-ways and interstates.

After Texaco pulled out of Indiana (about 1986) the Stucky's here picked up other brands. The one on I-65 was still in business up till a couple years ago, branded as a Shell. The one on I-74 at Jamestown exit was branded Marathon. But closed a long time ago.

Wow DB. That is cool how you can diagnose a brand from the shape of the building. I've heard people call it "urban archeology". This one should be easy for you, simply by the shape of the sign.

Been thru Enid once in my life. 1979. Spent the night there in a motel.... First place I ever Heard or Saw...."Thunder Snow" Thought I had landed in the Twilight Zone.
I have experienced it several times since. But that first time...... WOOOOOOOOOO....Creepy...lol
