Looks great so far! I had no idea there were so many of these.
The D-X logo change was in 1957, so maybe that could be your oldest one?

Wes, Thanks for the input on the DX date. Several companies had thermometers with logos that can date a transition period of signage. The 1959 date I earlier noted was actually on the thermometer. Amoco, Gulf, Lion, Mobil, Phillips, Sinclair, Sohio and Texaco are among the users of transitional logos.

Some thermometers begining with "F". I have seen two Fina thermometers and they both came from the same town which is about 30 miles north of where I live. Both were found more than 300 miles from that town! They sure travel arround. The two Flying A may look the same but if you look close one says "Service" and the other says "Gasoline". GLF is a New York Cooperative. The older logo Gulf comes in a light and dark blue letters. The new Gulf logo shown in two different sizes and colors. [This message has been edited by wfort39663 (edited 11-20-2007).]
