The only place that STUFF could come from was GLENN THOMPSON's.

ERIE never made a 50 twin cash recorder display pump, Glenn did.
WAYNE never made the 866 twin display [65-S w/ clockfaces], Glenn did.
Glenn also repo'd the WAYNE 800's and [I was told] also the DAYTON 900's.

STILL A GREAT SCORE.

Wow Dick - you're too much...

When I first saw the photo in Cheese's post, I said out loud "Geezus -- a whole HERD of pumps!"

Simply amazing. There are more visibles in that pic than I've seen in my life so far cumulatively...

The pump Cheese is referring to is a J.G. Doty. Out of St. Louis. That pump came from a bulk plant at Sikeston, Mo. I used to own it.

MORE !
can never see ENOUGH
db

I have seen a PORTION of the MOTHER LOAD [HOARD] of pumps. Some have NOT been touched by human hands for 20 years [can't get to them, because of pumps in the way]. PLUS, there are other buildings & truck trailers FULL of pumps that I have not seen of the same COLLECTION.

Cheese,
I can't believe all those pumps. A truly amazing score. Congrats!!! Are you going to sell it all on ebay, have an auction, or sell it at the next gas show? Bring it out to Fred's Gas Bash in California. We're hungry for good pumps like that. Way to go Cheese! ~Jason

Five pages of "Petrogasms" !!!! I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't be able to sleep. Hey Terry, every time I look at your photos I'm reminded of something else I need. I'm still looking for a Visi-guage for my National Simplex. Wow! can you guys imagine how long it took to put that collection together?

Geez, A guy dies and his collection is bought out and 'we' call it a score???
Rest in peace Glenn Thompson.
Ron

I'm editing this due to a later post and have no intention of bringing it back up to the top.

Chris, I would call this a "purchase".

Webster defines a "score" as

"8 : success in obtaining something (as money or drugs) especially through illegal or irregular means."

Ron

What would you call it Ron? I'd say it would have been a huge "score" for any dealer to aquire that collection.
Glenn's family obviously didn't want to keep his collection so I don't see what the problem is. Before long most of the pumps will be in collectors hands and they will get many years of enjoyment out of them.
And yes, rest in peace Glenn.

We are all just caretakers of this stuff. I am sure Glenn is smiling in Heaven knowing his friend the Cheeseman is taking care of his collection and that many collectors will enjoy it for years to come. I am sure he is cheering for Cheese as well. Yes, rest in peace Glen and thanks for saving this old junk from scrap pile.

I didn't know Mr. Thompson and I only Big Cheese from this site. But, if Big Cheese were to pass on today, I think it would take the undertaker 3 days to wipe the smile of Big Cheese's face. Congrats on your large addition to your collection.

Since we no longer allow items that are for sale to be posted in showcase and stories (except in our regular monthly features)I'm moving this topic to the for sale or trade forum, and locking this topic in showcase.
