Need some advice here.... I ordered a repo Super Shell clam back in April from Time Passages. They charged my CC at time of purchase, and said it would be backordered for a short time. Ok, no problem. About 2 months go by and I called them. Scott was very apologetic, even gave me a couple decals which he really didn't have to do. He said it was a problem with the glass factory. Now a few more months go by and they say they'll have them by Hershey. I went to his booth, still no globes. They said they've been waiting for enough orders to do a run and it will be done in 30 days. Even offered to refund my $15 for the letters. No problem, these things happen, whats another 30 days right? Well, now its almost December and I can't get them to return my calls. Scott's been a good guy through all of this and I don't think this is anything intentional, but am I ever going to see this globe? I don't think anyone else has them/makes them. I talked to Pergl at Hershey and they said I'd probably see it just in time to give to my grandkids (I'm 25). I figured maybe they just didn't like Time Passages. Hmm. Anyone have any ideas?

The easiest thing to do is to politely ask for a refund to your credit card but that you want to buy one when they get them. I'm sure they've got a waiting list you can get on without having to pay first.

Does anyone know of anyone selling one of these globes? I know Pergl has the regular shell clam, but I was looking for the Super Shell.

I THOUGHT IT WAS AGAINST THE LAW TO CHARGE SOMEONE'S CREDIT CARD BEFORE ACTUALLY SHIPPING AN ITEM? AND THIS IS A LONG TIME! I AGREE WITH SETH THAT YOUR CARD SHOULD BE CREDITED AND YOUR NAME PUT ON A WAITING LIST. A PROMPT NOTIFICATION SHOULD BE MADE WHEN THE ITEM IS AVAILABLE TO SEE IF AFTER ALL THIS TIME YOU STILL WANT OR EVEN NEED IT. JMOHO!

After several email replies, it looks like I'm not the only one this has happened to with them. Guess I'm just a bit too trusting. Does anyone know of another place I could get this globe?

Chris I know someone who has one for sale. It is a Super Shell repop with the base wired with a light socket. He is asking $250 what he gave for it plus shipping. Email me if you are interested bradleywralston@hotmail.com

You are right DOC, it is against the law to charge someone's credit card if his purchased items has not been delivered (or shipped).

Hope it ends nice and easy for you...

Hey gasoildude, I'll take it if Chris doesn't. I've been looking for quite a while also.

Buy a real one, you'll be a lot happier in the long run and the prices aren't that outrageous. Scott B. has one for $1750 I think, he might work with you also.

My $.02

gasoildude, just sent you an email. Very interested, especially if it is decorated. This is the full sized clam?

IF the seller won't charge back your CC purchase, a simple phone call to your CC COMPANY will get the the charge reversed. Been there, done that.

Well, this story may have a happy ending. Time Passages claims they will be refunding my credit card. This comes after getting a lot of different conflicting stories about glass factory delays (for 9 months?), waiting to run with another group of globes, etc. I ended up dealing with Barb and Debbie there, who were nice and were pretty helpful, but claimed to have no idea about anything that was going on. After several attempts to get Scott to talk to me, I gave up.

Luckily fellow oldgasser Brad (gasoildude) found me a globe that will work well for my pump. I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished product (Canadian Clearvision etched 10 gal). All I needed was the globe!

Thanks everyone.
Chris
