Well brother T-BONE.... I did work on the Northrop B-2.... Sorry ... No pics were allowed there either. Presently, I live on, and run, a working farm. The keeper calls it a ranch, but I say its a farm. We have breeding programs for American Sport Horses, Tennesee Fainting goats, and Llamas.... Have you ever eaten Peruvian Beef? Thats ok. We raise Pigs too.... This is this years first baby.... I now work at one of my other loves.... (?) Trucking.... Trash mostly. This is my latest.... but our primary business is roll-offs.... (See "The thrill of the hunt")http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/Forum4/HTML/001230.html Thats our "Beermonster" pulling a heavy can. Why Beermonster you ask? Well, the old girl came from Coors..... Mmmmmmm, beer. The keeper, runs the flatbed division. Hay mostly, but she has even moved a building with her old Mack. Thats another story. Ans as far as other stories, dont even ask about the Old Dodge. LOL.....
Anything Chevron I'd rather be flying.....

Highway Department. Used to lean on the shovel, now I look after the guys propping up the tools.
Hubba's tattoo parlor is right next to our right of way so I get to holler at him once in a while while checking stuff out. Y'all wouldn't believe the stuff that walks on Pine Street past his place every day. LOL

After spending over 10 years driving 9500 gallon gasoline tankers, I got into the electrical trade. Worked up to where I am now. I`m an electrical inspector for the county building department. Funny thing....I STILL love the smell of gasoline, and get stary-eyed when a tanker goes by....(sorta like when a kid sees Santa Clause!)

Grew up in gas & service stations. Spent the last 26 years as a paramedic. It's been a great career, but I now spend a good amount of time reflecting on my gas days working in restorations in my spare time.

LPN with MS Dept. of Mental Health. I work mostly with developmentally disabled adults (i.e. Down Syndrome, Autism, Mental Retardation, etc.)
Sometimes on recreational trips with my folks, I keep a lookout for old petro places, like an old Amoco bulk plant in Clarksdale, MS or an old Premier/DX station off I-55 in Jackson that I remember stopping at in the early 70's.
On one trip, I sat in the very front of a charter bus and snapped pics of old stations and anything that looked interesting along the way. One of them was a picture of the US 49/61 crossroads on a dark, dreary day.

I was there before vapor recovery--also only 2 grades of gasoline-Super and Regular-9000 gallons would drop in about 15 minutes if the truck was one product and the trailer another!

Lets not forget hauling Leaded Gas too.
Any of you remember Top Loading a gas truck? There was a Mobil terminal down by Seymour Indiana that was still a top loader in the early 1980's.
When I started, about half our stations didn't have Vapor Recovery. I think my best drop time was 8500 gallons in 14 minutes, three products from a 5 hole trailer, with three hoses.
Most Reminisent delivery I ever made was to a dealer in Kokomo. Every year they have what they call the Haynes Apperson Festival. Named after the car that was built there. We had a dealer (he is retired now, his son runs the station) that would bolt an old Visable pump over the top of his LEADED gas tank for the "Old Guys" to bring their antique cars in and FILL UP. Was a big hit. That pump is in a museum now. Chuck

Any of you remember Top Loading a gas truck? Oh yes! Remember the "dead man" switches? When they first elimintaed top loading in Central FL, they put in a computerized system with a grounding cord that never worked. The rack would shut down, and you couldn`t load if the truck wasn`t grounded. So a lot of drivers figured out which 2 holes to put a paper clip into on the cord socket, to fool the computer into letting you load!
