Here is 1 of my 87's, total height is approx. 65", I have another exactly like it, and I looked at 2 more this morning that a friend of mine owns and both of them were also 65" tall, Very odd to have 4 of the short versions that don't exist, 2 came from Vermont, 1 from a farm in western Mass, and 1 from Springfield Mass where the Gas Pumps were made. Note my pump has the access doors. Anybody else have or seen a short 87

Interesting indeed. Gilbarco's were also made right here in Greensboro,NC. All I've seen here are exactly the same height. My 86 and 87 are identical except for one being a clockface. Most all 87's here in NC don't have the inspection doors. I've only seen one that did and figured it had the wrong doors on it. I know where a few more are still out on the farms being used and the 87's don't have the inspection doors on them either. I have never seen one version shorter than the other here in NC. We have tons of 86's and 87's around here along with every other type of G&B since they were the most common pump in NC. Actually it was 1966 when Gilbarco moved to NC. I had to drag out my old Gilbarco book but I find nothing on a shorter 87. Anyone else have a clue why KZ1000 has these shorty versions?

Mike

Even more interesting is G&B (Gilbert & Barker) did not move to North Carolina till 1965, Before that all the G&B and Gilbarco pumps were made in Springfield Mass. Look at any ID tag, I myself have never seen an early pump with North Carolina on the tag
