LOOKS LIKE THE PUMPS ARE BRANDED ESSO AND THE STATION'S SIGN IN THE BACKGROUND MIGHT BE A HUMBLE? DIDN'T THEY HAVE HUMBLE PUMP PLATES? OR COULD THIS BE A NAME CHANGE TO ESSO, OR SIMILAR TO WHAT'S GOING ON THESE DAYS WITH BP BRANDED STATIONS SELLING AMOCO'S FUEL?
THANKS, MR. SIM!

To me that pic makes sense. You're crouched down inflating the tires down there, why not have the meter & crank at that eye level too.

Doc:
If you look closely at the bottom of the Esso Extra plate, you will see the Humble oval...the ad glass on the middle pump is Humble...Humble used two pump signs (Humble and Esso Extra), and there are two variations of each...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
