I heard that Dick and Paddy were actually going on a cruise together and thats why neither would be there this year.   Joking aside DB, you know everyone on oldgas is pulling for you and wishing you the best for a speedy recovery

maybe we could set db up with a video link? ;)you know,we could walk around with a puter,camera set up and it would be almost like havin him there.course if hes sittin around in his underwear drinkin warm beer,that may be a little too much for some....LOL.get better db,will talk with ya later!

What the heck! I was looking foreward to meeting Dick Bennett after all our emails and the banter back and forth on Old Gas!
Guess I'll just have to make sure and go next year too and maybe you can make it then Dick! Speedy recovery on the leg!

I had always heard that Pelicans were the Best bait for Great Whites. Never caught one, they don't waste their time going after Weasel bait ! LOL

no room in the Inn!!! Hotel is sold out as is just about every other hotel in Des Moines. They have several other events going on at the same time, some junior olympics type thing... Anyways if anyone has to cancel and is staying at the Holiday Inn, let me know and I wll take your room and give you $50

Scott, I hate to hear that. I got my hotel confirmation card Saturday and they had a note on it that double/double room might not be available. Hope so since my wife and two daughters are coming with me. Been a long time since hotel was sold out. Wonder if its all Iowa Gas or are they booking people for the other events? Pat

Scott, there are two old working man's motels on Hickman rd. east of the interstate. I stayed there one year with my dog during IG. We both lived thru it. Cheap and dirty don't need reservations. The police were knocking at the door next to me at two in the morning. The junior olympics were going that year to. On the plus side there were some resturants close by. I was thinking about coming out for the auction but I might change my mind. Mitch

I have a feeling this is going to be a GREAT show, the auction has some real gems that I can't wait to look over. I love this time of year!
