Can this porcelain face be repaired? I know I can buy a modern replacement but does anyone know if procelain can be fixed?

Yes it can be restored but you could probably buy 4 or 5 new ones for what it would cost.

Porcelain repair = Bondo/paint
Porcelain is fired glass on metal

Check with any company(s) in your area, that do porcelain sink and tub repair. Here they use a 2 stage polymer that looks and acts like the original porcelain. As too cost, I have no idea.

Bondo and paint can fix the chips but unless you have an artist who can repaint the printing on the face the restoration will never look very good as the chips extend into the printed area. You are much better off to find one in better condition or go with a repro.

I found a really good white porcelain paint at Home Depot but like wfort39663 said, you would have to have someone do the lettering which would be extremely difficult. The reproductions out there are very nice, I just wish I had one to restore!
