For what it's worth, I'm #13 in the picture. This was my 6th or 7th. Iowa show and, by far, the best. I met more Old Gassers then ever before and had a chance to share some stories. I enjoyed being abel to introduce my wife, Mary Sue around. I've never bought like this year and brought home some real "gems"...thank you to the sellers who gave me some real good buys, Butch Greer & Dan Matthews both helped me. I think Scott is right on about the foot traffic and hopefully we will see an upturn in the economy for next year because I won't miss this show...ever.
Thanks to everyone who made this a special trip

I agree with Ray, looks like vendor count was up, and foot traffic was pretty good. I too see a turnaround in the hobby and the economy. Great show.

Does anyone know who was selling the "TYDOL" sign that was againest the building and by the Rich's Ice Crean sign? It looks like a 42/48" sign.

Thanks,
Al

My brother had the TYDOL sign by the Rich's Ice cream sign. The TYDOL did not sell and only one of his two Rich's sold. Shoot me a PM for his contact info if you are interested.

My brother had the orange and blue United States Tries sign and I believe the Case Brothers had the blue US tires sign. My brother sold his sign. The Buick sign was down from us a couple spots, I do not have a name for him.

Thanks to Scott, Mick, Roadrelics, Wes and the others who posted pictures of the show. Some NICE looking stuff there. I noticed there were a LOT of Hat badges in the auction this year. Here are the results http://www.proxibid.com/asp/catalog.asp?aid=20317 . The only person I have even know that had that many hat badges was Ace Feek From Chelan Washington and I heard a few weeks ago he had passed away awhile back. Does anyone know if these were his? Super nice guy with a non stop smile that a number of years ago would wear his gas station hat LOADED with probably 20 - 30 high dollar hat badges to the local swap meets and gas shows where he was a vendor and buyer. Hat must have weighed 10 pounds! Always had a display case full of badges and some nice oil cans for sale. Will miss seeing him at the shows.

I've been attending since '95 and still believe if one is not there on "setup day", you miss seeing a lot of stuff. For the first time, I made a point of meeting people that I only knew from the phone and emails, and that made the trip worthwhile.

Does anyone know the vendor who had a room next to the courtyard (south side) who had two 15" round Texaco porcelain signs for sale. His room was open Wed, but had to leave before he opened up on Thursday. Thanks, Dave

Gaspumpman,
Yes these were Ace's badges, along with cans, signs, and globes.
Bruce Miller and Ace caused the prices of hat badges to go through the roof while they were alive and collecting. I wound up with the Tydol-Veedol badge lot. I had hoped to get the Douglas and the Conoco, but the prices that a couple of California and a Louisiana collector were paying were unbelieveable!Pat

Looking for early Pure Oil Company items(Energee,Detonox,Puritan)as well as any Woco Pep items.

Looking for graphic quart cans for my collection.
