NEW GUY HERE. I KNOW THESE QUESTIONS HAVE BEEN ASKED BEFORE AND ITS EASIER TO ASK AGAIN . IVE RESTORED 3 BENNET 646 MODELS AND JUST BOUGHT 2 MORE TO RESTORE. WHAT IS THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN 646 ,646T AND THE 646B ? THESE LAST 2 HAVE STAMPED STEEL BASES IN BAD SHAPE WILL THE CAST IRON BASES FIT MY NEW PUMPS? I LOOK AT EVERY ONES PICS AND COLLECTIONS AND I DONT SEE TO MANY 646'S WHAT GIVES? THERE NOT RARE THEY KEEP FINDING ME. ARE THEY BORING? I SEE ONLY 700-900 MODELS.

All of the pumps you mentioned are shown on page 65 of my Gas Pump Identification book. For more information on the book see www.petrolianacollectibles.comWhile you are on my site, look up your pumps under GAS PUMP LITERATURE, plenty of pictures. Jack Sim

I like them. I have two. I am not positive about the letters but I think one has no ad glass and the other is none computing for the $ amount. They were made with cast iron, cast aluminum and stamped steel bases.

...I have heard more than one pump restorer complain about how they are hard to put together once painted, without the components scratching each other...just what I heard...I think they're cool enough...
...646T is a special pump made for Tydol...harder to find..
...Jack's book is a good investment...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

The 646B or 646P were computing pumps, there was no 646, they were either a B or a P. B was with ad panels, P was without ad panels.
The T646B or T646P were twin computing pumps.
647 models were non-computing pumps, both single and twin.
