OK GUYS,HERE ARE SOME MORE PICS OF THE NATIONAL PUMPS.SEE WHAT YOU THINK.THE ONLY #'S I CAN SEE ARE ON THE RED PUMP.LOOKS LIKE 39-1666.IT DOES HAVE OLD PHILLIPS 66 DECALS UNDER THE RED PAINT.DON'T KNOW IF THAT HAS ANYTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH THE #'S.ALSO THE 39 GOES ALONG WITH THE IDEA IT WAS BUILT OR MODIFIED AFTER THE 38.THE TOPS FIT REAL NICE AND ARE BOLTED DOWN THRU THE INSIDE OF THE GLOBE HOLDER BEST I CAN TELL WITHOUT SOME TEAR DOWN.LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.THANKS!HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEK.MARK

I've still gotta go with a cut-down A-38. What does the tag say on the red side?? The top just doesn't look right. The lines don't match-up like they should on the contours, and there's no reason that the top would go over the top tip of the nozzle receiver. I tell you what though, I have no idea what that top's off of and someone did one heck of a job cutting it down. I'd like to see a picture of the pump with the top off to see the tops of the sides. But I'm gonna stick with a cut-down.

If the company that was cutting them down did enough of them, they could of had a special top casting made. Then they re-numbered [model #] the pump.

Thanks for posting the extra pictures Mark.
I agree with Dick a co. made a special mold then did the mods to make the pumps shorter to fit the later modern times.
Funny at a glance looking at them from a distance they almost resemble a dayton pump in my opinion.

How much work was involved in cutting down a pump?? It seems like a labor intense project and Im wondering why someone would go through all the trouble to cut one pump let alone several.

I've also seen Wayne 60's, 70's & Tok 39's cut off @ bottom.
