Well....I've had so many different guys inquire about the possiblity of buying the remaining original inventory from the "Old" Vic's Place, so rather than giving a first, second, third, etc. shot, I figured I'd just put this out there.

Most of you know that I retained the pump "boneyard" when I sold Vic's to Don Beaver, and over the last year, I've sold a few pieces each week on ebay to supplement my income. Problem is, I'm working 50 hours a week in my new business and it would take me 20 years to sell through it all at the rate I'm going. Plus, the pump doors are in rented containers and the pumps are sitting on land that is for sale, so in other words, the time is come to turn most of the pile over to someone else. The only thing I am keeping is a few shelves full of small (read: easily shipped) parts that I can ebay for "mad-money".

Here is what I do have....there are at or around 300 individual pumps standing. I would say that the breakdown is this: 10% visible, 20% tall electric, 70% short electric. Most of them are in various stages of incompletion, from just base/frame/computer all the way up to complete minus one door or a top. There are several that are totally complete. Most are gutted. There are at last count somewhere around 400 loose panels (bear in mind that I scrapped the real unusable junk last winter). I'm also including ALL LOOSE veeder-roots, bases, sightglass manifolds, light manifolds and lubesters.

What I'm looking to get out of this entire pile is $35,000 (cash, check or credit card). To better wrap your mind around it, that's about $100 per standing pump, about $10 per door, and $1000 for everything else. Now, I've bought & sold original parts almost daily on ebay & over the phone for over a decade, so I feel like I have a good handle on the values of original parts. That being said, the amount of $$$ that could be made from this proposition is only limited to the patience of the next owner. When you consider that I routinely get over $100 for doors, $50-$100 bases, $50-$100 for original porcelain faces, $25 for hinges, $75-$100 for veeder-roots, $25 for sightglasses, etc, etc, etc I could go on for an hour, I think that conservatively, we are talking about somewhere in the neighborhood of $100,000 in salvage value.

Another way to look at it, is if you took all those loose doors and started completing the pumps. If you made 100 complete pumps (remember, there are several already complete), $350/each would recover your money and you'd have the remainder paid for. Bottom-line is, I had intended on doing this for the better part of my living for the next 3-5 years, but this new business we started is really taking root and I just don't have the time to work 50 hours a week in an office, be involved in the lives of 4 kids AND run this pump salvage business EFFECTIVELY. I'd even consider keeping the pile if the land wasn't up for sale. As most of you know, the entire group is located less than 1/2 mile off of I-35.

Anyway, I will post pics this evening...e-mail me at robbins61@cox.net or call me 405.627.1052 if interested.
