These are as found originals that have never had any restoration work done to them.

They came with their original mounting brackets painted Sunoco blue,as well as their bottom trays still attached and holding the period paper towels.
Blue on one side, pink on the other.

Hi 540,

There ya go; thats what mine looked like. Why don't you post a pic of your island now? Maybe get some ideas. For instance, mine was mounted on the building. There was wringer barrel for chamois and more stuff on the island. There is a pic of mine and the island in use at the old Deep Rock further back in this forum. May not work for you; just a thought.

I found a self standing vintage REVERE brand lamp post with a porcelain canopy light & spots, painted the post Sunoco blue and fabricated two matching straps to be able to hang the towel boxes on w/o drilling into the metal post.
I hang old oil rags on the hooks,as that's what a friend of mine who worked at one told me they did.

Thanks..I display it inbetween my two Wayne 511 blender pumps...it's a nice compliment to them that sets them off nicely.
I felt fortunate to find them they way that I did,but I owe alot to you members of this site for your input, guidance and willingness to share along the way.

Rick

Wow that's a nice display, I have been looking for a towel box, and that really gives me some ideas. If you hear of any please shoot me an e mail.
Thanks
