Fake fake fake. Also beware of his phony milk bottles and creamers. Shame feebay allows these cheats to sell their garbage. Fraudulent items are in all collecting catagories.

Wouldnt that be a pretty big investment for the return? I have no idea if its an original or not, but it seems odd that someone would go through all the time and trouble to do this...unless it brings a great price

There is a ton of this cr@p coming out of the PA area, it is turning up at auctions in NJ,DE,NY,PA etc. Usually a clear bottle, many various shapes ( also saw a clear tire ashtray insert)with the fake ad put on the glass. I've seen gas, oil, soda, dairy, railroad etc.

As collectors we need to ask ourselves what that piece would be used for......answer...... nothing at a gas station. Use common sense. It is obviously fake as a rubber snake.

I know for a fact that the Maple Leaf Gasoline brand in Canada used to sell antifreeze ( ethylene glycol) in glass quarts and glass gallon jugs Roger,,,and that is a fact, as I have both..that is why I was using common sense and asking someone on here about the Ben Franklin jug ? I would believe you on the rubber snake though,, LOL !

Wes, I have one of the glass Gulf oilers and you are right. How about I go after it like this, I personally believe the item in question is not authentic as to the way it is being represented. Just an opinion. Just a bad feeling in my gut, thats all. I sometimes get a little abrasive with my opinions I guess but no harm intended.

Lots of products were sold in glass containers, but gasoline was not one of them & especially in gallon jugs. Even back then they realized the hazards of gasoline.
