on the back of the quart it has Whiting brothers.

Whiting bros. stations were just in the southwest. they were headquartered out of Arizona

Not trying to start anything, because I don't know anything about the company...just bought the cans because of the graphics.

Well, yours can's look different color and say Whiting Brothers and mine say's Whiting Bros. But I could be wrong also. Maybe they were out in Virgina.

regardless who's right or wrong, I would love to see your can. I always like to see something that I have never seen before. Never knew there was such a company till I bought these cans.

I don't have a whiting bros oil can. just a map. that's what I was refering to I'v only seen one Whiting Bros. oil can and it was cardboard can. from what research I have done and other collector I have talk to that collect bands that were mainly on Rt. 66 Whiting Bros. did not make a hole lot of signs or globes. all of the advertising they had were wood signs and decals. I also have a pump door with newer decal of newer log. There may have been two different Whiting Bros. company's .

WHITING BROS. OIL CO. was headquartered in Holbrook, Az.

I know "Check The Oil" did a article while back on this same co like D.B. just posted There must have been two company's with the same name. this one is from the southwest.

At one time there was 3 UNION CO'S. So more than 1 Whiting Bros. doesn't surprise me.
