I found these giant 'RPM' banners in my grandma and grandpas attic when my grandma past away. My grandpa worked at the Chevron station in Monroe Oregon until the early 70's. I'm not quite sure when he started or when he stashed these banners. My geuss is they were stored away once they were replaced, so maybe the mid 60's? Anyways, If anyone has ANY info on these origins or timeline, it would be musch appreciated!

There was some dust at the top we cleaned off:

U.S. PATENTS 2.764.830 2.822.630 2.893.147 2.911.746 ADDITIONAL PATENTS PENDING
M-C-A 4381
"LITHO. IN U.S.A. 1-558 -5200 - 4-61"

Thanks for looking, please leave a comment:)
Merry Christmas!

I searched all the numbers with no luck. My grandpa worked there in the mid 60's and were placed under wood in the attic and forgotten about!!
edit: Ya, April 1961. I just couldn't be sure of those numbers. I wonder if these are worth anything!

I have to wonder where they would hang them! Maybe inside the shop?

SINCE YOU DIDN'T MENTION THE SIZE, I CAN ONLY ASSUME SINCE THEY APPEAR TO HAVE A BOARD OR STIFFENER IN THE TOP AND BOTTOM THAT THEY PERHAPS WERE
ATTACHED TO EITHER THE INSIDE WINDOWS OF THE OFFICE OR MAYBE ON LIGHT POLES OUTSIDE BY THE PUMPS DEPENDING ON WHAT THE MATERIAL IS THEY ARE PRINTED ON.

...these went on either side of the 'prime sign' pole, facing oncoming traffic...looks to be the same format as a similar Union 76 banner I used to own...they're quite large, and do indeed have a board at the top and bottom, as well as pre-drilled holes....I would imagine a Chevron collector might come off of $30-50 for one in perfect condition - assuming they had space to display it...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

We used to hang similiar banners at the Marathon station in the seventies and eighties. There were holes on each end of the wood slats that wire would go through to help make them secure. We put them on the light poles next to the road.

Thanks Bruzer75! and thanks to all who replied! I found out my grandpa started workin there at the Chevron in the mid 40's and did for 30 years! I got the job to clean out and restore my grandparents house for sale, so I am sure I will find plenty of Chevron stuff! Happy holidays smile
