It's your choice. Metal, Glass or Plastic.
Look at the different 36B's that were posted in another thread.

The Top would look BETTER on my stack, than on your pump. IMO

Mick--Jacks book lists the 36B as being produced from 1936 to 1940. The first glass body Mobils were used from 1934 to about 1962,so that would make them period correct and Mobil was phasing out their 15 inch steel bodies and the 16.5 inch steel bodies in 1933 and 1934.
Personally, I like the bigger type steel bodied globes on a 36B as the smaller globes just look small up there! Besides that, just because Mobil quit producing those globes about the time the pump was made, doesn't mean that they quit using them! I'm sure a lot of stations used the "old globe" on the new pump!
What it boils down to tho, is what do you like sitting up there? Try it both ways and see which you like the best. I vote for a 16 1/2 inch Mobil Special on a Hi-pro frame!!!

Mick I am normally a glass globe person, but on the 36 I like the metal it looks better, not that my opinion matters. Have you asked Maria which one she likes, that might be the thing that lets this pump in the house. Just trying to help you out Mick, Im here all day.

Originals only for me. Always looking for Simpson oil, Super A, and MFA oil cans and globes.

Mick, I'm sticking a NOS 15" low profile metal body on my 36B. Don't know if there's a right or wrong answer, but I like they way they look.
